Peshawar: The Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is determined to set up a tourism board in the province to facilitate foreign visitors, a news source quoted Senior Minister for Tourism and Culture Mohammad Atif Khan. He was addressing a ceremony held in connection with the 9th Vintage Car Show at the Peshawar Services Club.
MPAs Shah Mohammad, Iftikhar Mashwani, Tufail Anjum, KP Tourism Corporation Managing Director Mushtaq Ahmed Khan, General Manager Mohammad Ali Syed, members of classic cars club, including Dr Aamir Bilal and Asim Durrani, also attended the event.
Khan said the participation of foreign tourists in the vintage car rally was an ample proof of restoration of peace in the region. He added that the government was committed to exploring 20 new tourism sites in the province.
He said that a tourism police plan was also in the cards that would ensure security of the tourists. He added that a taskforce and think-tank would also be established to pay attention to development of tourism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
