Mansehra: Minister for Narcotics Control Azam Khan Swati on Saturday said that the ban imposed on tourism activities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) amid the (ongoing) countrywide coronavirus outbreak would be lifted on Tuesday (tomorrow), according to news sources.

The minister said that KP’s economy majorly depends on tourist industry which led Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan and Chief Minister (CM) Mahmood Khan to jointly agree on the resumption of the tourism activities throughout the province from Tuesday.
Furthermore, he revealed that the government does not wish to waste more of the ongoing tourism season and is going to reopen the industry along with ensuring that hotel owners, transporters and other related service industry heads follow the government-sanctioned standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Swati highlighted that non-compliance with the federal government’s guidelines on coronavirus prevention will result in a tighter lockdown. He opined that the government is fighting both the coronavirus and its negative impact on the economy and enforcement of another complete lockdown is likely to shatter the economy.
