Rawalpindi: The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has commenced with the process to finalise the terms of reference (TORs) for prequalification of firms which had applied for preparation of the Rawalpindi Master Plan, according to news sources.

Once the TORs are finalised, the RDA will issue the bidding documents to the 10 firms that have prequalified for the master plan development contract. These firms are required to prepare Rawalpindi Master Plan and share their report with the RDA in 10 months after the issuance of bids documents.
The Rawalpindi Master Plan 2020-40 will be formed with planning in place to address the city’s upcoming needs in the next 20 years. The preparation of this plan is estimated to cost PKR 50 million.

The prequalified firms will give their suggestions to the department concerned on civic needs in the next two decades regarding the sewerage system, water supply, electricity consumption, road infrastructure, environmental protection measures, health and education system, commercial markets, play grounds and public parks and parking.
