Rawalpindi: After staying in the pipeline for three years, the terms of reference (ToRs) of the new master plan for Rawalpindi 2020-40 have been finalised, according to a news source. The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) finalised these ToRs to govern the city’s new master plan for improvement spanning over the next two decades.

These ToRs will be presented before the governing board meeting for discussion and subsequent approval from the provincial housing ministry in the upcoming week. Afterwards, a consultant shall be appointed.
The RDA sent a draft of these ToRs to the Punjab Housing Secretary in February.
This master plan proposes to resolve the overload of traffic and the population hike in the city. It also addresses administrative issues like coping with the demand for better water supply, sewerage, power, gas, telecommunications, commercial and residential tenant issues, industrial problems, better road conditions, street maintenance, parks and recreational centers, enhanced educational and health facilities etc.
