GUJRAT: The Sara-i-Alamgir Tehsil Municipal Administration (TMA) has finally opened Canal View Park to the public after completing its infrastructure. The park, located along the upper Jhelum Canal, was established in 2006 but lacked basic infrastructure such as lights, pathways, seating facilities, plants and grass.
In 2006, the boundary wall of the park was built with Rs 5 million, however, the boundary wall and iron fence were damaged because of the negligence of the authorities concerned.
Reportedly, the renovation of the park was started 2 months ago under a public-private partnership and a three-member committee was constituted to complete the basic infrastructure of the park.
The park is now open for the public, but its official inauguration will be carried out on May 28.
