Narowal: Deputy Commissioner Tahir Farooq shared that development projects worth PKR 17 billion -launched under Sialkot City Development Package – are expected to be completed by March, according to media reports published on Sunday (January 9).

The said announcement was made during a meeting of the District Development Committee, which was attended by Special Assistant to Prime Minister (SAPM) for Youth Affairs Usman Dar, representatives, and executive engineers of Nespak.
The deputy commissioner, while speaking at the meeting, mentioned that work of laying sewerage line on Defence Road, Kashmir Road, and Khadim Ali Road will be finished by March. He went on to say that the construction of the Shahabpura flyover and re-carpeting of roads will also be completed soon.
Reportedly, Kashmir Road will be made a model road and three ‘C-turns’ will be constructed on it to make it a signal-free road. It was also disclosed that a service road and pedestrian bridge will be constructed. Sharing more details, the prime minister’s aide stated that work of laying sewerage lines on Defence Road was expected to be completed by the second week of February.

As far as the Shahabpura flyover is concerned, it is said to be opened to traffic after completion in March. The SAPM stated that he will contact Federal Minister for Railways Azam Swati for a No Objection Certificate (NOC) for the flyover project.
Moreover, the completion of the said project will beautify the city and will improve the flow of traffic. According to SAPM Dar, the quality of the work will not be compromised.
