Multan: The Government of Punjab has finalizedthe timeline for issuance of NOC for private housing schemes and other approvals for commercial and industrial projects in the province, a news source reported. It has already issued an official notification in this regard.

It took this decision in light of Prime Minister Imran Khan’s vision to provide ease of doing business facilities to individuals as well as to make related matters easier for the general public. The notification mentions that in case of late approvals, the related department will be held responsible for the negligence. It further states that the cases which couldn’t be attended during the specified timeline will be forwarded to the divisional commissioner.

Reportedly, Multan Division Commissioner Shan-ul-Haq directed the concerned departments to form a combined policy for issuance of NOCs and other approvals, in order to follow the directives issued by the provincial government. Implementation of these directives will promote business and trade activities in Multan.

As per the notification, Punjab Government has set varying timelines for issuance of different approvals. The details are as follows:
- 30-day timeline for granting approvals for individual construction of units in commercial, residential and industrial properties
- 30-day timeline for development authority to issue completion certificate to metropolitan corporation
- 45-day timeline for granting an approval for the commercial use of a property
- 60-day deadline for development authority to grant an NOC to private housing schemes
- 75-day deadline for the metropolitan corporation to issue an NOC to private housing schemes
