Muzaffargarh: Several mega projects, including three model cities, will be launched in three municipalities in March, a news source quoted Municipal Committee Chairman Sardar Akram Khan Chandia. He was talking to a delegation of the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
Chandia informed the delegation about the model cities which will be built at a cost of USD 330 million. He said work on sewerage systems would commence after the completion of PC-I.
Malik Qaswar Abbass, the focal person, said Muzaffargarh is among six municipal committees shortlisted by the ADB. He added that work on projects in underway in the three municipalities.
Municipal Committee Chief Officer Zohaib Hameed Qureshi said the projects would cover modern sewerage system, carpeted roads, safe city project, traffic control system, and water treatment plants.
Moreover, solid waste management and recycling plants, latest sports complex, convention centre and ladies parks, jogging tracks, new bus terminal, streetlights, community centre and transport system would be established.
