Lahore: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has planned to plant three dense Miyawaki forests in 3 places within its jurisdiction, news sources reported. The project is anticipated to cost PKR 96 million to complete.

Furthermore, the three locations chosen for the planting project are LDA Avenue One, Jubilee Town, and Mohalanwala.
According to reports, the (LDA) has begun concrete planning to establish dense forests in its controlled territories’ densely populated areas. In this context, a working paper has been prepared to transfer PKR 96 million to the Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA). The LDA will present the working paper for this project for governing body’s approval at the next meeting. The plan is part of the federal government’s continuous effort to improve urban living conditions and battle pollution in the country’s major cities.

Similarly, the Punjab government has chosen 51 locations in the provincial capital for forest plantation, spanning from dense urban areas in the city centre to the city’s outskirts. The premier inaugurated Lahore’s first Urban Forest in Gulberg in February of this year, kicking off the plantation and Clean and Green Drive across the country.
