Lahore: The authorities concerned have announced their decision to construct three flyovers (out of the total six) on an urgent basis in the city, a news source reported. Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Usman Buzdar has already provided his approval to the development of said infrastructure schemes.

To this effect, Sheranwala Gate Flyover, Shahkam Flyover and Karim Block Flyover will be developed under the first phase of the project, whereas other uplift initiatives (including a flyover in Samanabad and an underpass at the Gulab Devi Junction on Ferozepur Road) will be constructed during the second phase.

Moreover, the officials concerned have drafted the Shahdara Interchange blueprint and forwarded it to the federal government for its review. Owing to lack of funds, the Punjab government has requested the centre for financial assistance.
