Lahore: The Director General of Lahore Development Authority (LDA) Muhammad Usman Moazzam has issued a 45-day ultimate for completion of all beautification and development work on the Thokar Niaz Baig Intersection, according to the news sources.
On his visit of the intersection on Sunday, the DG LDA reviewed the progress on the project and directed for the concerned officials to use traffic engineering mechanics to control the traffic on the busy route. He also instructed authorities to establish green belts and parks to enhance the impression of the area, along with quality horticultural work and the installation of ornamental lights.

DG Moazzam directed that the graffiti, posters and banners in the area be removed, saying they dampen the beauty of the locality. He called for a standardized format for shop signs and showrooms.

Chief Engineer of LDA Mazhar Hussain informed the DG that road geometry has been improved for better traffic flow, and briefed him on the progress of other tasks as well. He revealed that walkways and footpaths have been constructed to facilitate foot traffic, and 4-kilometre long roads were carpeted with asphalt work in the area.
