Gujranwala: The Education Department has identified 37 dilapidated government school buildings, a news source reported. The buildings were spotted in a survey conducted by the department; the findings of which were later shared with the building department.

The survey was conducted to find out the status of primary, elementary, and high schools buildings located in various tehsils of Gujranwala. These include Khangah Dogran, Hafizabad, Gujranwala, and Wazirabad. The survey revealed that most of these schools have sizeable student enrolments.

As per reports, the Education Department will conduct another survey to identify specific parts and classrooms of these worn-out school buildings. According to Education Department CEO Muhammad Farooq, the survey results will soon be shared with the building department.

The department will then reconstruct the dilapidated classrooms on a priority basis.
The department will send a summary for allocating funds to reconstruct the remaining school buildings for inclusion in the upcoming budget.
