Faisalabad: The Punjab government has identified 13 sites in Faisalabad District for constructing low-cost houses under the Naya Pakistan Housing Programme (NPHP), a news source reported.
Punjab Housing Secretary Naseem Sadiq recently expressed his views on the matter during a meeting, which was held to review progress on the NPHP Faisalabad project.

Punjab Housing & Town Planning Agency (PHATA) Director General Liaqat Ali Chattha, Punjab Housing Director Shafqat Saeed, Deputy Director Muhammad Saeed, and Town Planning Deputy Director Asif Niaz were all present at the occasion.
The housing secretary said that the project sites will be identified only after proper inspection and planning in order to develop NPHP as a modern and inclusive housing scheme. For this purpose, the identified locations have to be situated in close proximity to main city areas. In addition, the location has to support and provide solid infrastructure base for the project.

He added that the departments concerned have been tasked with managing the NPHP Faisalabad systematically. Sharing more details, the secretary said that the project will feature 3- and 5-marla houses and apartment buildings; all of these constructions will be designed according to modern construction standards with additional facilities.
