Lahore: The third solar-powered water filtration plant established under the collaboration between Coca Cola, Rotary’s Pakistan PolioPlus Committee, and the United Nations Development Programme has been inaugurated in Orangi Town, according to a news report. This is a part of the agreement between the three organisations to establish five such water filtration plants in Orangi Town.
According to details, Coca Cola foundation has provided USD 80,000 for the project, and under the project’s listing, Orangi Town is the 5th largest slum in the world with a population of around 2.5 million. The second phase of this project started in the beginning of the current year, and under this phase, clean water will be provided to 140,000 people in Punjab and Sindh.
