Rawalpindi: The Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) has completed the cleaning of open drains at a cost of PKR 5.7 million, according to a news source. The cleaning process consisted of dredging and desilting was carried out at Adra Nullah as well as almost 20 more all over the city.
The RCB spokesman Qaiser Mehmood has said that the Cantonment Executive Officer (CEO) Sabtain Raza directed the Sanitation Incharge to complete the cleanliness work before 5th July. The sanitation branch also made efforts on a daily basis to ensure cleanliness in all areas falling under the jurisdiction of the RCB. The culverts of the drains have also been cleaned and special teams have been initiated for quick response, relief and rescue operation in case of any emergency. Encroachments from the banks of these open drains are also removed.
