In Rawalpindi, many people are using residential areas for business purposes, because of which the residences are being bothered and the government is losing millions of rupees. The concerned authorities do not know about these commercial activities in residential areas so the TMA only charges same income taxes, which they collect from the other residents of the areas.
In the residential areas like Committee Chowk, Dhok Kala Khan, Khayaban Sir Syed and Dhoka Ratta, illegal and/or commercial use of property is taking place with the involvement of authorities. Multiple illegal slaughterhouses, motor workshops, and paint factories are operating in these areas.
Residents of the areas have protested against this illegal use, since the stench caused by the various factories and slaughterhouses in almost every street has become unbearable for them. The residents have highlighted that along with the factories and slaughterhouses, illegal motor workshops are also being run in areas like Muslim Town, Dhok Elahi Road, Cha Sultan, Dhok Khabba, Kuri Road and Sadiqabad.
Besides that, a Vehicle Bazaar is set up without prior permission from the concerned authorities. This bazaar is being run in violation of the city government directives in the Rehmanabad area. Sources declared that many fraudulent and deceitful practices having become an everyday routine in the bazaar and due to being located at Murree Road, it also causes inconvenience to the residents through traffic jams.
The residents have asked the concerned authorities to take a strict action against this illegal bazaar.
