As the genuine property buyers take the lead, Lahore’s real estate sector has started to register interesting market trends. Zameen Search trends for buying plots in Lahore have revealed that housing societies located along GT Road have gained 21 Popularity Index points in May alone. The shift in trends is perhaps triggered by the fact that GT Road is home to a number of private housing societies that offer residential plots on affordable rates.

As per the statistics recorded by Zameen Search Trends in May 2018, the top three most looked up housing societies on GT Road were:
- SA Gardens
- Al-Raheem Gardens Phase V
- Al-Ahmed Garden Housing Scheme
Here is a quick look at these societies for genuine buyers on a hunt to purchase property for their personal use.
SA Gardens
The society is located on GT Road near Kala Shah Kaku interchange of Lahore-Islamabad Motorway M-2. On Zameen Search Trends, the society wasn’t ranked among the top 10 before April 2018, when it landed directly on the third spot, and reached the number one position in May.
SA Gardens is an LDA-approved project that features residential plots primarily in sizes of 3 marlas, 4 marlas, 5 marlas, 8 marlas, and 10 marlas, but the developer has also started to cater to the needs of buyers with bigger budget brackets by offering farmhouses. However, the fact remains that the smaller options are more in demand right now.
The society comprises three phases featuring several blocks. Currently booking for residential plots in Phase II Extension is underway while Phase I and the main areas of Phase II have plots available on cash payment. Here are the current market rates.

It is located on Main GT Road near Lahore Ring Road’s Quaid-e-Azam Interchange. The phase has Town Municipal Authority (TMA) approval, and plots here are offered on registry and transfer basis. According to sources, projects located in this part of city fall under TMA jurisdiction, where not having an LDA approval is not an issue. Furthermore, the buyers are mostly keen to invest for projects and property the developer offer to transfer and register on their names.
Al-Raheem Gardens Phase V primarily features 5-marla residential plots, but other sizes are also available; 3 marlas, 6 marlas, 10 marlas, and a limited number of 1-kanal plots. While the 5-marla plot category is currently the most popular one, the per marla rate for 3-marla plots is the highest as the phase features only a limited number of these plots.
The phase is fully developed, with possession available for the buyers to start construction of their houses. Here are the current market rates:

It is located near Daroghawala opposite Manawan Police Training Centre on GT Road. The society has TMA approval for its Blocks A, B, and C, while property buying for plots in Blocks D, E, and F also continues as the developer offers plots on registry and transfer.
The prime attraction of the society is its prime location which has all needed facilities including schools, colleges, hospitals, eateries, and shopping areas in its close vicinity. Al-Ahmed Garden is a completely developed housing society with all needed facilities in place.
It features residential plots in sizes of 3 marlas, 5 marlas, 6 marlas, 7 marlas, 8 marlas, and 10 marlas. With 3-marla plots available in a limited number, demand for them is much higher in comparison with the others, and consequently, their per marla rate is also higher:
