Mithi: Pakistan Peoples’ Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has inaugurated two coal power plants in Thar, according to a news report. The two power plants will produce 600 megawatts of electricity.

The power plants will start commercial provision of electricity by the end of June 2019. It should be noted that electricity production at these plants is already underway. Initially, 100 megawatts of electricity from each plant will be added to the national grid.
According to Engro Pakistan Chairman Khursheed Ahmed Jamali, 4,000 megawatts of electricity will be produced from these power plants. He urged the federal government to use local resources for power production.

In addition, Private Power Infrastructure Board approved four Thar coal power projects to produce 1,400 megawatts of power. The first power plant was connected with the national grid earlier in March this year. This power plant supplies 330 megawatts of electricity to the national grid.
