Rawalpindi: Pakistan Railways (PR) launched the Thal Expressway train service that will operate between Rawalpindi and Multan on a public-private partnership model, according to news published in the national dailies on April 22.

Divisional Superintendent Inamullah and Imran Enterprise team inaugurated the train service. The said train service has seven coaches for the economy class along with the capacity to accommodate over 700 passengers. Since it will operate on a public-private partnership model, a private company will manage operation under the outsourcing policy of PR.

According to the details, the train service will reach Multan from Rawalpindi within 15 hours. The divisional superintendent mentioned that the said train service will provide maximum facilities for the passengers. He went on to say that the fare for travel for the economy class coaches was PKR 770 per seat, PKR 820 per berth, and PKR 1,980 per seat for the air-conditioning coach.
