Lahore: The Punjab government has shared that the pilot run of Lahore’s first-ever electric bus with zero smoke emission has been started, according to news published on November 10. The e-bus has been operating on Lahore’s roads every day, making two trips, from Punjab Transport Company’s (PTC) main station to Valencia Town.

The news source mentioned that the trial run has been ongoing in the city for almost a month and so far, the test run is going great. An official (whose name was not disclosed) stated that the electric bus project is environmentally friendly and safe for drivers.

PTC Chief Executive Officer (CEO) mentioned that the Sapphire group has started this initiative in Lahore in collaboration with BYD China – the world’s largest producer of electric vehicles. In a similar development, the Sindh government has also started the test run for electric buses in Karachi.
