Karachi: A meeting, held under Karachi District Administrator and Deputy commissioner Malir Ghanwar Ali Laghari, has announced its decision to release PKR 500 million tenders for the rural development and the completion of development projects in district Karachi, news sources reported.

Reportedly, the meeting also announced that special funds will be allocated for the suburbs of Karachi District in the fiscal year 2021-2022 budget. The administrator announced the budget while chairing a meeting of the local representatives and the council members. He also said that the budget of District Malir will be announced separately from that of the Karachi district council. Moreover, the development budget will be beneficial for the general public and improve the quality of life of the people.

In another development, the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) has announced the establishment of a Medical city on the outskirts of the Karachi Manghopir area. For this purpose, buildings and apartments will be built to accommodate the medical and paramedical staff.
The KMC Administrator Laeeq Ahmed announced the establishment of a medical city in a high-powered meeting with the officials from various departments. He further said that the decision was taken in view of the increasing demand for better treatment facilities for leprosy patients and other general patients. Similarly, the up-gradation of the medical facilities in the suburbs of Karachi is essential and inevitable keeping in view the increasing population burden.
