Islamabad: The authorities concerned have drafted the international tender for the Rawalpindi Ring Road (RRR) project and would circulate it through national and international news publications next week, according to news sources.

Rawalpindi Commissioner Muhammad Mehmood revealed the information during a meeting with Federal Minister for Planning, Development & Special Initiatives Asad Umar. Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Capital Development Authority (CDA) Ali Nawaz Awan as well as officials of the planning ministry were all present on the occasion.
The commissioner informed the meeting that the project’s feasibility study has been completed and alignment has been finalised. It was highlighted that the 65-kilometre-long roadway – up to Sangjani – has been identified and the payment process for acquisition of land is underway.

Minister Umar appreciated the project pace and said that RRR project will help promote economic activities in the area, while also resolving the traffic issues. He also issued directions for strict adherence to the project’s communicated delivery timeline.
