Lahore: Punjab Senior Minister Abdul Aleem Khan has called for overhaul of the present tendering and contract awarding system, a news source reported. He directed relevant officials to prepare recommendations for bringing wide-scale changes in the present contract awarding mechanism in two weeks. The recommendations will be presented in a final meeting of the special committee formed on the directives of Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan that will take place on January 9.
Khan was presiding over the meeting of the special committee. Addressing the meeting, he said that in the light of the directions given by the PM, the Departments of Communication & Works, Local Bodies, Irrigation, Public Health Engineering and Housing need immediate reforms.
Now, through online working and monitoring by a third party, reforms will be brought in the current tendering system.
