Islamabad: The Balochistan government on Sunday announced that the authorities concerned were scheduled to complete the tender process for the Quetta Master Plan this month, a news source reported. To this effect, a meeting was recently held where the Urban Planning & Development Secretary revealed that the tendering process for hiring the consultant for revising the plan would reach completion by the end of July.

The meeting discussed the concerns pertaining to the construction of commercial buildings in the residential areas of Quetta. To resolve this issue, the officials concerned decided to amend the relevant rules and regulations of the Metropolitan Corporation Quetta and the Quetta Development Authority.
The session attendees also reached the decision of banning the transfer of residential plots for commercial use in the city. Additionally, it also banded the new constrictions on roads under development as part of the Quetta Package.

Reportedly, the Local Government (LG) secretary will head a committee to formulate the rules and regulations for constructing commercial buildings and land zoning of new roads. Meanwhile, the meeting also took notice of the constriction of commercial buildings and plazas in the city violating building codes. The agencies concerned received directives on taking strict action against such buildings.
