Gujrat: The Punjab government granted tenants in Khewra ownership rights of around 12,000 kanals of land in a formal ceremony held at the Khewra municipal committee office on May 2.
According to a news source, Provincial Minister for Mines and Minerals Chaudhary Sher Ali Khan presided over the ceremony. Provincial Parliamentary Secretary for Law and Parliamentary Affairs Nazar Muhammad Gondal and Jhelum District Coordination Officer Iqbal Hussain Khan were among those in attendance.
Residents of Khewra had been demanding ownership for a long time, the news source stated.
Other provincial matters were also discussed and plans for improvement in several spheres of life were revealed.
