Islamabad: The Sui Northern Gas Pipeline Ltd. (SNGPL) has sent a feasibility report to the Ministry of Energy (Petroleum Division) for setting up Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG) Air Mixing Plants in 10 cities from the northern parts of Pakistan, according to a news source. These cities are Chitral, Ayun, Muzafarabad, Rawalakot, Kotli, Palandri, Bagh, Dhirkot, Bhimber and Gilgit.
Each plant is expected to cost PKR 80 million and will benefit 70,000 people. Gas will be transported to these plants through containers from where it will be supplied to respective houses through pipelines. Reportedly, the LPG plants will supply gas to domestic users only and at a flat rate of PKR 600.
According to details, the project will be run and managed by SNGPL, for which 500 employees will be hired. Reportedly, SNGPL has arranged for land in Gilgit-Baltistan and has also placed an order for purchasing plants. The land in Chitral will be purchased this year.
