Peshawar: Special Assistant to Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Science & Information Technology Kamran Bangash has said that Department of Information Technology (IT) will provide all necessary assistance in the installation of Department of Relief, Rehabilitation & Settlement’s telemetry system and MIS system, a news source reported. This system will provide early warning for floods so the government could take appropriate steps to mitigate it.
Under the projects, telemetry systems will be installed on the rivers around the province and IT department will provide assistance on the matter. The system will be able to measure the water levels so that steps could be taken to reduce the risk of flood.
Bangash was speaking at a meeting organised to review the establishment of telemetry and MIS systems. The meeting was also attended by Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Project Director Waqas Ilahi.
