Bahawalpur: Officials of the Tourism Development Corporation of Punjab (TDCP) detailed their plans to stage the 14th Cholistan Jeep Rally next month, according to a news report. They expressed their resolve at a meeting presided over by Divisional Commissioner Nayyar Iqbal.

The bodies involved in staging this rally are as follows: TDCP, Cholistan Development Authority (CDA), Desert Rangers, divisional administration, and the district administrations of Bahawalpur, Rahim Yar Khan, and Bahawalnagar.
Sponsors have yet to be finalised for this important mega-event. At the meeting, a number of committees were constituted to determine the event proceedings; headed by the deputy commissioners of the aforementioned districts. These committees will recommend the methodology, route, and the timing of the rally, among other things. For security, detachments of Desert Rangers and Pakistan Army will be deployed.

Previously, the rally’s route extended up to Bahawalnagar’s boundaries, but this time, it will be extended to the Rahim Yar Khan district. The meeting was also informed about a cultural night, as well as accompanying illumination and firework displays, which will be arranged at the majestic Derawar Fort.
