Bahawalpur: The Tourism Development Corporation (TDCP) Punjab has concluded the construction of a tourist resort in Cholistan ahead of the 18th Cholistan Jeep rally event due to start in January 2023, news sources reported on November 10.

The resort has been built near the historic Derawar Fort, about 70 kilometres away from Cholistan, with a PKR 20 million budget. As per the details learned, the resort spans over 5 acres and consists of a waiting room, six bedrooms, three bath blocks with 20 public baths, a parking lot, and a camping area for visitors and tourists. The furnishing of the resort will be completed by TDCP and will provide all sorts of facilities to the visiting tourists and visitors before the start of the Jeep rally.
In addition to this, the TDCP spokesperson said that the corporation has also renovated other tourist spots in Cholistan, including the Lal Suhanra National Park tourist resort. The TDCP has added 10 furnished rooms with attached bathrooms, a multi-purpose restaurant, and a swimming pool, besides parking and camping areas.

It is important to note that the Cholistan Jeep Rally is an annual event held by the locals and TDCP. It was started in 2003 for the first time and since then it has attracted car and jeep enthusiasts from around the world.
