Karachi: Tehran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines, and Agriculture (TCCIMA) President Masoud Khansari has said that business communities of Iran and Pakistan need to contribute collective effort towards the promotion of trade and investment, according to news sources.

He further maintained that the business communities of the two countries should exchange trade delegations and arrange exhibits on a regular basis, instead of waiting for bilateral promotion strategies to be formulated at the government levels.
He made these remarks while visiting the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI). He said that the economic chambers of Tehran and Karachi should work to connect Irani and Pakistani firm to explore trade and investment-related opportunities.

He stated that the documented and official trade volume between the two countries stood at USD 1.5 billion, but the unofficial trade figures amounted to around USD 4 billion. Khansari opined that there were a lot of similarities between the two countries and a huge potential to boost investment and trade.
