Islamabad: The federal cabinet has announced its decision to notify the tax records of all Pakistanis through an online portal facility, according to a news source published on August 4. Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan recently directed the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) to introduce such a web portal at the earliest.

The cabinet further announced its decision to post the tax records of cabinet members, parliamentarians, and the local business community on the said web portal ‘for the sake of transparency and good governance’. Moreover, according to the PM, the tax details of individual taxpayers will also be uploaded.

Meanwhile, the FBR’s newly appointed team on Tuesday held an online introductory session with officials of the International Monetary Fund (IMF). The session discussed the country’s annual tax revenue target and the reform path planned under the USD 6 billion Extended Fund Facility (EFF).
