Karachi: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Director General (DG) Reforms and Automation Wajid Ali has stated that the payments in excess of PKR 1 million will have to be submitted through electronic mode from January 20 onwards, a news source reported. The DG was talking to members of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI).

Providing further details of the project, Wajid Ali stated that the online system was introduced through a procedure in 2017 in collaboration with the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP). The system is also connected with FBR’s WeBOC utility.

The system will work through a unique ID issued to the users which will be connected to relevant bank branch for that particular user. The system will also be available through easy paisa and on mobile phones. The users will be able to make payments round the clock.
