Gujranwala: The Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Department (ETNCD) has sent tax notices to the defaulters of luxury house tax, reported a news source. The department will seal houses of the owners who will not pay the taxes in the due time.

According to details, the ETNCD has delegated the tax collection responsibility to the concerned inspectors. These inspectors will recover the due taxes imposed on the owners of houses sized 1.5 kanals or more. The department has decided to notify the owners before taking any action.

According to Excise and Taxation Officer Ijaz Sarwar, DC Colony, Citi Housing, Satellite Town, Cantt, Wapda Town and People’s Colony are the areas identified for collection of luxury house tax. The owners of properties in these areas are yet to pay luxury house tax worth millions of rupees. The department has sent tax notices to these owners several times in the past.

The recent tax notices issued by the ETNCD is the final notification issued in this regard. The department will seal houses of the owner refusing to clear the luxury house tax in the given duration.
