Islamabad: The Government of China has introduced a ‘Belt and Road Initiative Tax Administration Cooperation Mechanism’ (BRITACOM) to build interdepartmental relationships with the tax authorities of various countries, reported a news source.

The Government of Pakistan has also decided to link the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) with the state tax department in China via the BRITACOM system.
Pakistan’s Ambassador to China Masood Khalid shared the details regarding this development with the government through a letter addressed to the foreign affairs ministry.

The Pakistani Embassy in China requested the government to link the FBR with the Chinese tax department. The ambassador also asked the government to send an official letter to the Chinese authorities to sanction further proceedings on the matter.
In addition, the embassy officials have also sought the FBR’s feedback on this issue.
