Lahore: The Punjab government is planning to establish a ‘Small Industries Estate’ in Taunsa Sharif, a news source reported. This project will cover 400-kanals of state land, and require funds worth over PKR 428 million.

For this purpose, the Punjab Small Industries Corporation (PSIC) has already approved the PC-1 for the scheme with a gestation period of three years. Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Sardar Usman Buzdar wrote a letter to the Commissioner Dera Ghazi Khan to make the necessary arrangements for the project. It is expected to improve economic conditions of Taunsa city and its surrounding zones, including the tribal areas.
Upon this request, the commissioner allocated the state land concerned on Mouza Taunsa Sharif – located specifically in khasra no: 934,935. He also communicated with the Board of Revenue, Punjab to transfer the designated land to the Punjab Industries Department (PID).

Meanwhile, PID has also submitted PC-1 to the Punjab Finance Department for the release of the required funds. The said document narrates a request for releasing funds, including cost of land during financial year 2018-19.
