Islamabad: Tarbela Dam has reached its maximum storage level of 1,550 feet, stated a news report. It was just more than a month ago that it had reached dead level. The dam’s maximum storage capacity of 6.047 million acre feet (MAF) has been reached with maximum water storage level.
Despite this, the total storage of the country’s reservoirs is 30% lower than it was last year. Overall, all main reservoirs have gained a little over 65% of the combined live storage, leaving about 34% of capacity that needs to still be filled. The total storage capacity of the three main dams is 13.681 MAF and Mangla, Tarbela dams and Chashma Barrage stands at 8.975 MAF, compared to 12.87 MAF during the same time last year.
