Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Minister for Local Government Shahram Khan Tarakai has directed the Kaghan Development Authority (KDA) to ban all commercial construction activities that fall under its jurisdiction, a news source reported.

He gave the directive during a meeting with the director generals of the KDA and Galiyat Development Authority (GDA). As per reports, the minister has issued the said instructions in a bid to facilitate the tourists in Kaghan.
The minister said that the KDA should issue notices for regularisation, along with a fine, to the owners of all illegal constructions in the area. He added that the civic body should not allow any new constructions that don’t meet legal requirements.
Moreover, Tarakai has directed the authorities concerned to maintain cleanliness at various tourist spots across the province. He ordered the officials to take strict action against those involved in wall chalking.

He also called for identifying landfill sites for dumping hotel-generated waste, so that the Town Municipal Association (TMA) can collect and dispose it off safely.
