Islamabad: In Islamabad, Tajikistan’s Ambassador Sharifzoda Yusuf Toir paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, as reported on August 2.

As per details, the Prime Minister extended a warm welcome to the Ambassador and wished him a successful tenure in Pakistan. Reflecting on his recent visit to Dushanbe, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed appreciation for the warm hospitality he received and praised the productive discussions he had with President Emomali Rahmon. He emphasised the significance of the Memoranda of Understanding and agreements signed during the visit, urging for their timely implementation to further strengthen bilateral relations. The Prime Minister also reiterated his invitation to President Emomali Rahmon to visit Pakistan at his earliest convenience and expressed anticipation for Tajikistan’s participation in the upcoming SCO Council of Heads of Government meeting in Islamabad this October.
During the meeting, the Tajik Ambassador presented several proposals aimed at enhancing cooperation in key areas such as education, agriculture, defense, and connectivity through land and air routes. The Prime Minister acknowledged these proposals and directed relevant Ministries to engage with the Ambassador for detailed discussions. Regional connectivity projects, including CASA-1000, were also discussed.
