Lahore: The government of Punjab has decided to implement the system for making the wuzu water reusable throughout Punjab – a news source reported. Judicial Water and Environmental Commission Chairman Justice (retd) Ali Akbar Qureshi has notified all the Parks and Horticulture Authorities (PHA) and water departments in the province via letters.

The measures are being taken in the light of the Lahore High Court’s (LHC) orders. The court had ordered the authorities to implement the system around the province.
Qureshi, in his letters, wrote that there is no option but to preserve underground water. He highlighted that through the measures introduced to reuse wuzu water, thousands of gallons of water can be saved. He also noted that thousands of tanks have been set up in mosques around the provincial capital.

He directed that a similar system should be introduced in other cities of Punjab. He further instructed the PHAs to submit compliance report after the implementation.
