Rawalpindi: The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has chosen a Swiss firm, Zurich International, as the consultant for the Rawalpindi Ring Road (RRR) project, according to a news source.

However, before a work order can be given and a contract awarded, the company will be scrutinised for physical verification.
Zurich International will submit a detailed design and structural engineering report to RDA for this purpose. If the civic body finds the report to be satisfactory, the company will be awarded the contract worth PKR 85 million.
However, the contract requires the company to complete its task within six months. If Zurich International fails the physical verification test, then RDA will invite consultancy offers again.

The Punjab Government has allocated PKR 4 billion to acquire land for the RRR, but this acquisition process will only begin once the consultancy firm submits its report to RDA. Zurich International competed with five other companies for this contract, and will submit its findings for better flow of traffic along the RRR.
