Karachi: The Sindh Water Commission (SWC) has directed the provincial government to submit its policy regarding conversion of industrial plots into commercial property by December 22, a news source reported. Former Supreme Court judge Justice Amir Hani Muslim is the chair of the commission.
He was hearing the issue of conversion of industrial plots into commercial ones. The issue has been pending for the last several months as the government and departments concerned have yet to come up with any concrete policy.
Secretary Industries Sindh, Managing Director SITE, Director General Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) and other officials attended the proceedings of the commission.
Sindh Additional Advocate General Sarwar Khan requested the commission to grant more time for submitting a policy about the conversion of industrial plots into commercial ones.
The commission, while accepting the request of the Sindh Government for submission of the policy, ordered Chief Secretary Sindh to attend the proceedings of the commission on December 22.
