Swabi: A 220kV grid station is set to established in the Swabi district to ensure smooth supply of electricity to the consumers – according to PESCO officials.
The project has already been approved and is expected to cost PKR 6.13 billion. The work on the grid station will begin soon and it is expected to be completed in three years.
According to reports, National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser recently initiated contacts with the officials concerned and leaders of the ruling party in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the former’s bid to facilitate the project’s development.
The speaker also wants upgradation of the transmission line as electricity requirements of the people have increased manifold.
The establishment of a grid station has been a longstanding demand of the local people. The new grid station is expected to resolve the issue of prolonged outages and low voltages. Additionally, it will also ensure the provision of uninterrupted power supply to the consumers and industry in the district, especially the Gadoon Amazai Industrial Estate.
