Lahore: The Ravi Urban Development Authority (RUDA) and British construction and management companies discussed the construction of a sustainable and environmentally friendly housing society, according to news published in the leading newspaper on December 15.

RUDA Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Imran Amin chaired a meeting in which the representatives of British construction and management companies Trellis Housing Finance Limited and Altair Management Company and senior officials of RUDA were present. The attendees discussed the construction of heat-protecting and sustainable houses on RUDA’s land.

As per the details, the authority has decided to provide 300 acres of land for the sustainable housing society. Trellis Company Director Emma Ahmad briefed the attendees about the Modern Method of Construction (MMC) that provides heat-protecting houses using renewable energy. The houses will be suitable for middle and low-income groups with renewable energy facilities like water recycling mechanisms, and solar panels.
