Islamabad: The Sustainable Housing Ecosystems (SHE), a joint venture of Altair, AMC, and Trellis, on Wednesday (December 7) announced a USD 50 million investment in Pakistan over the next three years, news sources reported.

The investment will be made in the real estate industry with the goal of delivering low-cost homes to the country’s middle-income households. AMC Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Jawad Aslam stated at an event that the SHE venture has already invested USD 50 million in the real estate and housing business and that this additional investment would enhance the construction sector even more. He stated that the investment’s purpose is to bring together key players in the housing market and collaborate on creating environmentally friendly projects throughout Pakistan.

It was also emphasised that there is a need to increase housing finance in the country from 0.2% of GDP to a double-digit level in order to address the housing shortage. Participants at the event also stated that the housing problem cannot be avoided at the current rate, and that additional efforts and finances would be necessary. The participants also urged the government to offer help to the housing industry in order to tackle the challenges.
