Quetta: Balochistan Chief Minister (CM) Jam Kamal Khan has ordered the authorities concerned to commence with the survey of the Quetta-Ziarat Highway, a news source reported. The CM further announced the government’s decision to upgrade the highway – following a significant influx of tourists reported in recent years – in order to ease commute between the two cities.

The CM referred to Ziarat as the ‘most popular tourist attraction’ in the province while he was addressing the Quaid’s Day ceremony at the Ziarat Residency. He added that the incumbent government was keen on utilising all available resources for boosting tourism in Balochistan. He pledged to forward the request of installing an LPG plan in Ziarat to the federal government.

Vowing to develop the valley, CM Kamal stated that the provincial government would ensure the provision of facilities to the residents of Ziarat. He added that the tourism sector would create job opportunities for the locals.
