Gujranwala: The Excise & Taxation (E&T) department in Gujranwala has completed the survey of vacant plots in the city, a news source reported. The transfer and registration of these plots has been reopened.
According to sources, due to non-payment of taxes, the E&T department had banned the transfer and registration of 51,000 vacant plots in the city.

The former government had imposed property tax on vacant plots in the city. Following this, a survey was conducted of all the vacant plots in the city. A report of 51,000 plots was prepared as a result.
According to sources within E&T, there are 22,226 plots in Gujranwala region which have defaulted on a total of 9.57 million. Several notices were sent to the owners of these plots, however, they have not paid. E&T department had banned the transfer and registration of such plots.
