Peshawar: The land issues impeding the launch of the Surizai Housing Scheme (SHS) have been resolved on Wednesday (February 1) after the elders of Surizai and Tilaband reached an accord, a news source reported.

As per the details shared, a jirga encompassing the elders of Surizai and Tilaband – which was presided over by Peshawar Commissioner Riaz Mehsud – outlined a plan to address all the issues that have hindered the development of the Surezai Housing Scheme.
According to the new plan, the elders have agreed to voluntarily transfer 1,450-kanal land to the provincial government and the government will appoint locals to all Class-IV positions, which will be advertised for the housing plans.

Moreover, the administration has decided to abolish the ban on land transfers in Surezai and Tilaband and has announced development plans for these areas.
