Karachi: Bahria Town Karachi on April 7 issued a notice regarding the surcharge waiver on active files of all commercial projects for clients who clear their pending instalments by a specified deadline, according to sources within Bahria Town.
The notice has been published with Bahria Town’s letterhead and states that the approval in this regard has been sanctioned by Bahria Town Country Head (Sales and Marketing) Shahid Mehmood Qureshi. While the official notice does not have an official signature or stamp from the country head, the notice is still valid as it has been confirmed by separate sources.

According to this letter, ‘a 100% surcharge waiver will be given on active files of all Bahria Town Karachi commercial projects, upon the clearance of all due instalments by April 20’. Since owners may have different pending amounts due to various personal reasons, the notice advises them to contact the Bahria Town Karachi Sales and/or Marketing Department in case of queries.

From our sources, we have learnt that Bahria Town imposes a daily fine of 0.05% of the due instalment. The message shared via this notice suggests that no matter how high the surcharge is on your late instalments, if your commercial plot file belonging to any project in Bahria Town Karachi is active, you can save yourself from paying the surcharge by clearing the pending dues before April 20.
