While giving orders for the computerization of property records, Supreme Court has demanded progress reports from Federal and Provincial Governments. However, except Baluchistan, the other 3 provinces have provided progress reports and assured the court that the pending work will be executed soon. They also assured that the Supreme Court’s order would be obeyed fully.
It was mentioned in Punjab’s report that the property record of 35 tehsils has been computerized, while data entry has been started in 36 districts. Service centres have also been developed in 35 tehsils and the work will be completed till June 2015.
Sindh reported that out of 6081 acres, the land survey of 5053 acres has been completed and digital maps are being developed. The property record of 6000 rural areas has been computerized and the work is expected to complete till August.
It has been reported by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa that the process of property record computerization has been started in 3 districts and the work will be started soon in the other 7 districts of the province.
No report has been submitted by the capital city, Islamabad. While showing positive gesture on the submitted reports, Supreme Court has postponed the hearing of the case for three weeks.
