Islamabad: The Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) has officially launched the Space Applications and Research Centre (SPARC-GB) in Gilgit-Baltistan, according to a news source on October 2.

Based on the shared details, this development marks a major role in the region’s technological and environmental landscape. The launch ceremony, held in Gilgit-Baltistan, was presided over by the region’s Chief Minister, Gulbar Khan.
According to the official statement released on Wednesday, SPARC-GB is poised to play a critical role in tackling some of the region’s most pressing environmental and socio-economic issues.
The Centre, developed in collaboration with the Gilgit-Baltistan government and international research organisations, aims to address local challenges such as disaster management, ecological preservation, and socio-economic development.
